After her parent’s separation, Peace found herself living with her uncle in one of the most dangerous places in northern Uganda. Rebel activity in the area made it very risky to go to the local garden or market, but Peace was constantly being sent out as a substitute for the other children to look for food for the family. Fortunately, Peace was never captured. Before joining the KK Uganda program, she made a living by selling ground nuts by the side of the road. The KK Uganda program has influenced her life greatly. She has been able to clear all of her debt, buy beans and household items, and above all, she has been able to contribute and support her husband and family.
DREAMS FOR THE FUTURE
My future dream is to purchase a plot of land and build. With the money I earn, I plan to send two of my children who haven’t enrolled in school yet to enroll next year.

The most beautiful thing about Northern Uganda is the peaceful atmosphere that is prevailing and the resettlement from detention camps to the villages around.
