Elizabeth Pilco Champi

Elizabeth was born and raised in Puno, an Andean town. She stopped going to school after 2nd grade because her family needed her to work on the family farm where they raised cattle. At 18 she moved to Lima, but was unable to find consistent work so she started selling coffee and food on the streets. Today, her life looks much different. She is excited to be at KNOWN SUPPLY because she sees the opportunity to provide a different type of life for her children and eventually go back to Puno to be with her family.

DREAMS FOR THE FUTURE

I want to buy knitting machines so that I can start my own business selling knit hats and sweaters. I want my children to complete high school and to have a different life than I did.

MOST BEAUTIFUL THING ABOUT PERU

The most beautiful things in Peru are the vicuna (a cousin of the lama that has one of the softest hair in the world).
